Toyota Safety Sense is a suite of active safety technologies that all work to increase driver capability and control. These technologies can help mitigate collisions, keep drivers in their lanes, and improve nighttime safety as they offer an overall safer experience on the road.

TSS Packages

Toyota believes that no matter the destination, everyone deserves to arrive safely. Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) offers an advanced suite of safety features standard on virtually all models. 

TSS IS AVAILABLE IN TWO PACKAGES:

TSS-C is currently available on:
2017 & 2018 Corolla iM, 2017 & 2018 Prius c, and 2018 & 2019 Yaris Hatchback

TSS-P is currently available on:
2017 - 2019 Avalon, 2018 & 2019 C-HR, 2018 Camry & Camry Hybrid, 2018 & 2019 Corolla, 2017 & 2018 Highlander & Highlander Hybrid, 2017 & 2018 Prius, 2017 & 2018 Prius Prime, 2018 Prius v, 2017 & 2018 RAV4 & RAV4 Hybrid, 2018 Sequoia, 2018 Sienna, 2018 Tacoma, 2018 Tundra.

PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM

WITH DAYTIME/LOW-LIGHT VEHICLE AND PEDESTRIAN DETECTION, PLUS DAYTIME BICYCLE DETECTION

Provides collision avoidance or collision mitigation support in speed ranges where frontal collisions are likely to occur. For TSS 2.01, PCS is designed to detect bicycles in daytime situations, as well as vehicles and pedestrians in both daytime and low-light situations -- helping to prevent or mitigate a collision.

LANE DEPARTURE ALERT

 WITH STEERING ASSIST AND ROAD EDGE DETECTION

Alerts you if you start to drift out of your lane when travelling on relatively straight roads with clear lane markings, road edges or curbs. The Steering Assist function may also provide small corrective steering inputs.

AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM

Designed to detect oncoming and preceding vehicles’ lights and depending upon the circumstances, Automatic High Beam (AHB) can switch between high and low beams for you.

LANE TRACE ASSIST

LTA6 is designed to work with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control5 to keep the vehicle centered in its visibly marked lane and preemptively avoid unintended lane departures. LTA does require the driver's hands to remain on the steering wheel. Some models equipped with TSS 2.01 will not have the LTA feature. Check your Owner's Manual for more details.

FULL-SPEED RANGE DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL

>DRCC can automatically adjust vehicle speed to help maintain a preset following distance between you and the vehicle directly in front of you. Most TSS 2.0 models will feature Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control5, which is designed to allow low-speed following, speed matching, stopping, and acceleration/deceleration to a preceding vehicle. Manual transmission models receive high-speed range DRCC instead of Full-Speed Range DRCC.
